Rules of Baccarat
Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are worth their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual individuals; they simply represent the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the 'banker' and 'player'. The score for each hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 gives a tally of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the 'one').
A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the gambler or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart is used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pay out eight to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a bad gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. However odds are actually better - nine to 1 versus eight to one)
When done properly, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with many games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most established and feasibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-six concept. This tactic is employed to magnify profits and cutting back risk.
start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of six on the fourth gamble.
If you don't win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
